Prepreg-ACM JSC

Leading manufacturer of prepregs and fabrics in Russia.

Profile

Prepreg-ACM joint stock company was established in 2009. It has been part of UMATEX (Rosatom) structure since 2018.

The company produces an assortment of technical fabrics and prepregs based on carbon/glass/aramid fibre, to be used in shipbuilding, aircraft engineering, construction and other industries. Its production facilities are located in Technopolis Moscow and Dubna Special Economic Zone. To date, the company has designed 200+ textile articles and 25 articles of prepregs.

Carbon fibre cloths, multiaxial fabrics and prepregs used within composites are extraordinarily lightweight, durable and corrosion resistant. Prepreg-ACM deploys cutting-edge equipment that meets applicable international standards. The age of the production machinery does not exceed 5 years. As its competitive advantages the company leverages European-standard quality, low energy costs and highly qualified personnel. These ingredients of success help it to compete on equal terms both in the Russian and global markets. Partners in Italy, Germany, Hungary and other countries have already been using the company’s products in their goods. The company’s warehouse operating in the town of Kladno, Czech Republic, ships supplies to any EU country within 3-4 business days.

Production facility

The company is based in Technopolis Moscow, which hosts:

  • Multiaxial fabrics workshop
  • One of the world’s largest prepreg production lines
  • R&D Centre.
Unidirectional and bidirectional fabrics are produced in the town of Dubna’s special economic zone. This is where the company’s subsidiary, Prepreg-Dubna LLC is based.

The production site is equipped with state-of the-art looms. The product portfolio of Prepreg-Dubna LLC offers 200+ textile articles, including carbon/glass/aramid fibre- and hybrid tapes and fabrics, reinforced carbon mesh, custom-made textiles. The company designs and manufactures innovative products to be used in aviation, shipbuilding, construction and energy sectors, and in the production of consumer goods.

Products

Fabrics based on carbon fibre

These are textiles featuring various weaving patterns. When being part of polymer composites, bidirectional fabrics demonstrate resistance to the majority of aggressive chemicals, high tensile strength, low linear thermal expansion coefficient and light weight.

Multiaxial fabrics

These are textiles where carbon fibres cross at various angles. Compared to conventional carbon fibre fabrics and tapes, multiaxial fabrics demonstrate a better performance in bending, compression and pulling tests, and better mechanical resistance to variable loads. Multiple cross-stitched layers of fibre make it possible to enhance the mechanical performance, reduce the weight, resin consumption, and streamline the production. In general, multiaxial fabrics are used in complex composite structures.

Prepregs

These are semi-finished composite products resulting from impregnation of a reinforcement fibrous base material with an evenly distributed resin. The impregnation is done so as to leverage the stress/strain properties of the reinforcement to the maximum. Fibre-impregnating techniques can improve the material’s properties by 30%.
