New large-scale project for the production of globally competitive carbon fibre.
The plant was commissioned in May 2015. The construction of the production site was a major step in effecting the imports phase-out programme.
The plant’s equipment is up to global standards, and its carbon fibre process has been developed by Russian engineers. The facility’s output capacity is over 1,400 tpa. ALABUGA-FIBRE products are on a par with their international counterparts in both price and performance.
Chinese composites producers have already expressed their interest to ALABUGA-FIBRE products. The first shipment of UMT-series carbon fibre was exported to China in February 2016.
The strategic goal of the plant is to become one of Top-5 global producers of carbon fibre by Year 2030. To this end, there is a plan to expand the facility for export purposes and build four new production lines, which will make it possible to produce fibre up to 10,000 tpa.
The line is designed to produce various types of carbon fibre.
The assortment of carbon fibres as part of lightweight and durable composites is quite in demand in aerospace industry, aircraft engineering, car-making industry, shipbuilding, oil & gas sector and construction industry.
